Nutrition is an important component in the management of advanced cancer. Many individuals experience uncomfortable side effects such as pain, weakness, constipation, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, problems chewing or swallowing, weight loss and loss of appetite. An appointment will help the client and family members understand the nutrition related issues commonly seen in cancer, eating techniques that minimize common side effects, foods that promote weight maintenance or weight gain and providing education that may improve the client's quality of life during this difficult time. |
